Senior Adult Ministry

The Senior Adult Ministry Council:
SAMC is responsible for planning activities for our senior adults. The council is made up of senior adult members. They have an appointed advisory group and together they handle the following areas of senior adult ministries.

Good Life Fellowship:
Our senior adults meet the third Thursday* of each month. There are invited speakers and programs that cover a wide range of subjects. The program begins at 11:00AM and lunch is served at noon. Please call 450-1000, ext. 100 to make reservations for lunch by the second Monday of each month. Lunch is $3.00 per person and free if it is your birthday month. Curt Hall is the chair of this team. Trip Ministry:
Each month our seniors enjoy trips to local and distant locations aboard our church bus. This affords a time of fellowship and worship while traveling to interesting and enjoyable destinations. Several day trips are scheduled during the year and some overnight venues are also offered. One long trip is usually taken each year. Each trip will have a certified bus driver and a trip director aboard. Please check out our website information for a list of these trips. Sign-ups are taken by calling 450-1000, ext. 100 for Joyce. Members reservations are taken first; however, when there is room guests are welcome! The chair for our trips Ministry is Kay Towle and you may call her for additional information at 584-6017.

Special Events:
Presently there are three special events annually for our senior adults: Valentine Banquet, Senior Adult Day and Christmas Luncheon. A service event is currently being studied by the council and may be added by the end of the year. This team is chaired by Wilma Burton and she may be reached at 522-2758.

Classic Worship:
Classic Worship is a specially designed worship time with very traditional music style. Soloist and instrumentalist are often a part of the service as well. The preaching/teaching is rotating so there is a variety of instruction and inspiration from many of out seminary trained leaders.
