Our Mission
Central Baptist
Church of Bearden exists
that people may
Know Jesus
Christ as Lord,
Grow as
His Disciples and
Share his
love in word and deed.
Our Vision
Our Vision is for
Central Baptist Church of Bearden to be a community of spiritually
empowered believers who practice Loving
God intimately, Loving People unconditionally,
Leading People
to Christ and Living His Mission.
Steps to Fulfillment
Loving God intimately and expressing
that love through passionate worship, dynamic
prayer and obedience to His commands.
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart
and with all your soul and with all your mind." (Matthew
22:37 NIV)
Make prayer central
to everything we do.
Plan and conduct
both traditional and innovative worship experiences focused on God.
Enhance congregational
participation in all phases of worship.
Encourage personal
worship experiences that strengthen the spiritual lives of families
and individuals and
promote consistent obedience.
Loving People by extending open arms in a compassionate
and unconditional embrace to all,
welcoming them to join us on the Christian faith journey, and ministering
to their needs.
"Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what
is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly
love. Honor one another above yourselves." (Romans
12:9-10 NIV)
Strengthen Hospitality
Establish ministry
teams and care groups within Sunday School classes and other ministry
organizations as
front-line for delivering ministry.
Believing all Christians
are called to be ministers, refocus all Sunday School and Discipleship classes,
and other groups,
on developing Christians who are to function as ministers, both inside and outside
the church.
Intentionally utilize
existing and new ministries to reach out aggressively to families and individuals.
Leading People to become fully developed followers
of Christ by equipping them to discover, cultivate
and practice their spiritual gifts, talents and passion in service
to Him.
"It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets,
some to be evangelists, and some to be
pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service,
so that the body of Christ may be built up."
(Ephesians 4:11-12 NIV)
Develop and implement
a system for equipping all members to grow as authentic disciples of
Christ and encouraging
them to practice their gifts, talents and passion through ministry to others.
Living His Mission by sharing the message of hope
in Jesus Christ through dynamic and challenging
proclamation of the gospel in word and deed.
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing
then in the name of the Father and of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have
commanded you. And surely I am with
you always, to the very end of the age." (Matthew
28:19-20 NIV)
"I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least
of these brothers of mine, you did for me."
(Matthew 25:40 NIV)
Build
intentional emphasis toward being on mission with God into our core identity.
