Children's Ministry Calendar


Sunday School- Rotation Bible lessons for children are provided in each of the sessions on Sunday morning. Learning experiences are planned to help children know God and understand His plan for their lives. Children in grades 1-5 follow a rotation schedule. Sixth graders participate in Middle School Sunday School. Sunday morning 9:30a.m. and 10:45a.m.

Mission Organizations - Girls in Action and Royal Ambassadors for grades 1-6 on Wednesday evening during the school year include missions study, mission action projects, praying for missionaries and their work, and supporting missions through giving. School Year 6:35p.m. - 7:25p.m.

Music - Graded choirs meet on Wednesday evening during the school year. Hand bells and a summer music camp provide additional music experiences. School Year 5:40p.m. - 6:30p.m.

Worship - Children in first grade and older attend worship services at 9:30 or 10:45 with parents. Kids Celebration during the last half of the 10:30a.m. service, is optional for children grades 1-3.

Weekday Education - After School and Summer Day Care Programs are available for school-aged through fifth grade. After school transportation is provided from Rocky Hill, Bearden, and West Hills Elementary Schools. Weekday Education is a non-profit program.


Special Activities for Children

Children's Bible Drill - A discipleship program for fourth through sixth graders in the spring of each year. The drill helps children increase their Bible knowledge and skills.

Bible Buddies - For children in grades 1-3. Teaches basic Bible skills in a noncompetitive, fun format. Offered concurrently with Bible Drill.

Children's Day - A fall Sunday with an emphasis on children in worship services followed by special activities of particular interest to children and families.

New Christian's Class - Offered each spring and fall exclusively for children in grades 2-6 who have made a profession of faith and are new church members.

Sixth Grade Retreat - An overnight trip in the summer to introduce sixth graders entering the Youth Division in the fall to youth ministries for grades 7-12.

Vacation Bible School - A week of summer Bible study, missions education, recreation, and worship for children in grades 1-6.

Parents' Night Out - A Friday evening several times during the year when children in grades 1-6 enjoy games and other group activities  while parents enjoy a night out. For church or Sunday School participants. Hours are 6:00 to 8:45p.m. Reservations are required.
