Welcome and thank you for visiting us at our church Website. We hope you will join us in one of our worship services. Our purpose is to exalt God through worship and to equip you to be a servant minister to the world around us. May God bless as you desire to live for His purpose.

Word from the Founder
“The initial thought of a specially knit fellowship for African immigrants started with a hunger to connect and worship as "we know" from late months of 2002 after a thorough search in Knoxville to no avail. Imani Church in its present form, started with early morning (7:00 a.m.) prayer fellowship and coffee meetings with a good friend of mine over a span of 3 months (March to July 2003). The first worship gathering was July 13, 2003. That set the wave going to the present form.” Michael N. Mbito, Ph. D., Assistant Professor of Family Science, Anderson University.

Opportunities
We are so privileged and blessed by Central Baptist Church of Bearden for embracing us as one of their ministries that meet at Middlebrook Christian Ministries, 1540 Robinson Road. As a result we now have a place with ample space to worship our God, as Dr. Mbito puts it, as "we know" how. Our services are for all: we use English during the worship. We also sing our songs in both English and Swahili. Our Sunday service schedule is as follows:

Sunday school for all ages   10:15-10:50 a.m.
Worship Service                 11:00-12:30 p.m.

Prayer meeting                  Thursdays, 5:00-6:00 PM
Men fellowship                   Second week of every month
