Fifteen : Seven meets on Sunday mornings at 10:30am in room 217. We are a group of un-married men and women in our 30’s. We are a small but close-knit class which is fairly new. When deciding what to call ourselves, we considered several concepts but finally agreed on the words in Romans chapter 15 verse 7. It says: “Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.” Can I get an “Amen”? This verse capsulates what we want to be as a class... A group of people who accept one another. You don’t have to fit into a box to fit into our class... We will accept you for who you are, for what you were and for who God is working everyday for you to become!
You will quickly realize that we are not the conventional “Sunday School” class either... We talk about topics relevant to today’s world! Our Sunday School is not for the shrinking violet or the faint at heart! Our opinions are encouraged as we study God’s word and search for truth!
Frank and Stephanie Crichton are our “Sunday School” teachers. Frank has a very non-conventional teaching style and he brings a discussion to the table that you will not get just anywhere! Whether the topic is the book of Philippians or modern day Islam, your not going to get your average Sunday School lesson... You’re going to get a unique perspective, an open-minded discussion and sometimes a little mayhem! But it’s always interesting and it’s always a good time!
Fifteen : Seven is an Externally Focused Sunday School Class. “What is that?” you ask? Externally Focused is a mentality. We try to do a mission project as often as possible because we believe that it is very important to do what we can to positively impact our community. Our class has worked with the Knoxville Runaway Shelter, we have collected can openers for Angelic Ministries and we take dinner to the residents of Parkridge Harbor, among other things.
We also like to hang out! I mean who doesn't like to hang out? We like to go out on the lake in the summer, go to the movies, bowling, out to eat and have game nights. The girls of the class have been involved in two small group women’s bible studies and we try to get together a couple of times a month over a cup of coffee to catch up!
If you would like more information on fifteen : seven or would like to talk to someone about a class at Central Baptist to visit... Call Amy Clark at 450-1000 ext. 142 or email at aclark@cbcbearden.org. I will be happy to give you any information that I can on our class or other classes offered at Central.
Hope you can join us sometime!
